I built this because reaching out to alumni never actually worked for me. I would find someone on LinkedIn who went to my school, maybe even studied the same thing I did, and send a message. Nothing. LinkedIn is built for the whole world, which means it is built for nobody in particular. A stranger has no reason to answer a stranger, even one from the same school.

What actually gets a real reply is a real connection. Not "we both go to FSU," but "you were in my exact chapter," or "you studied the same major, five years ahead of me." That kind of connection is worth something because it is real, and because someone who was actually there can vouch that it is real.

Verified, not just claimed

Anyone can type "I was in Sigma Alpha Epsilon" into a LinkedIn bio. Here, an actual member of that chapter either vouches for you or does not. If nobody vouches yet, that is shown honestly as self reported, not hidden behind a badge that implies more than it means. Trust is the entire point, so it never gets faked quietly.

Lineage

Every account here traces back to a real person who brought them in, whether that was through their club, their chapter, or just a friend who told them about the app. You can see that whole chain, your own roots and everyone who joined because of you, as an actual family tree. It sounds small, but it changes how it feels to join something. You are not signing up for a stranger's app. You are becoming part of a real, visible line of people who trust each other.

The actual goal

I want a current student to be able to reach an alumnus and get an answer, not silence. I want a coffee chat to actually happen instead of getting scheduled and ghosted. I want joining your school's alumni network to feel personal again, like it used to be before everything became one giant global platform built for nobody specifically.

This is a small, independent, student run project, not a product from FSU or from any club or chapter named on it, just something I built because I needed it to exist.
